Oh, the joys of food!

Recently I discovered a local organic farm which offers a mouthwatering array of organic produce, beverages, pies, eggs, and even apple cider donuts and fresh kobucha. I love walking around seeing all the displays and smelling the fresh herbs and greens until my mouth waters!

Which brings me to today’s gratitude subject — my senses of taste and smell.

When was the last time you had a headcold or stuffy nose that hampered your ability to smell or taste your food?

It certainly stole the joy from eating, doesn’t it? Wouldn’t it be sad to not be able to smell fresh flowers, your favorite fragrance, the wet earth after a spring rain? Or to eat without any succulence a juicy, ripe apple?

Indeed – today I will savor every bite and try to notice every scent around me… as I whisper a prayer of thanksgiving!

What would you miss most if you couldn’t taste or smell?
