Advent Devotions – December 25th Merry Christmas!
Luke 2:20 “The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”
The countdown is over. The day is here… just as you had been told; on December 25th we celebrate Christmas. The months of shopping, anticipation, planning, frenzy, and fun have come down to now. The presents have been given, opened and the paper might still be scattered under the tree. Did you get the gifts you wished for? Was it everything you hoped for? If it was, thank God.
If it wasn’t, thank God anyway. It’s so easy to buy into the commercialized, fabricated illusion of the perfect two-hour “Christmas movie everything comes out okay for everyone every time” syndrome. Don’t fall for the perfection lies and be dissatisfied.
Regardless of your Christmas “status”, remember what you have heard and seen over the last 24 days as you have gone through this Christmas advent devotionals. The only thing that fulfills, that really matters, is Christ. Luke 2:1-20 tells us of His story, the true and only authentic Christmas story. Have you received that gift this season and asked Jesus to come and live in your heart and be your Lord and Savior? He is waiting with open arms and an open heart for you.
Thank you, Linda!
Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy Birthday, Jesus!
