Take time to love/honor your body by fueling it properly.

For the month of February, commit to eating as healthfully as possible.  You may start off with simple changes like portion control and drinking more water.  From there, make improvements to what you’re eating – more fresh fruits/veggies, less processed foods.  Less take-out and fast food, more preparing meals at home and bringing your lunch.  This may show some love to your finances as well when you cook/eat at home and bag your lunch.  Watch a few cooking shows, try a new recipe, make some extra meals on the weekend and freeze them for later in the month.

Share making a meal with a friend, or “trade” meals – you both made a double portion of that night’s dinner, then exchange the second meal so you have another night’s supper, cooked by your friend!

Treat yourself to a lovely table, as if you were entertaining – and you are the guest of honor!  Use your best dishes and glassware, linen napkins, the whole works, including candlelight.  Put on some soft music (and shut off the TV); take your time to savor each bite.  If you are cooking for two or for a family, make it a fun event for everyone.

Plan ahead so you have lots of “ready to go” healthy snacks in the frig so that, when you are starving, you can grab something healthy instead of that sleeve of cookies.  In fact, whenever possible, don’t even bring any tempting junk food into the house.  If it’s not there, you can’t eat it!

Remember that your body is a temple, a one-of-a-kind treasure.  Treat it as such!

How do you show yourself “food love”? (No sitting in bed with a container of ice cream doesn’t count!)
