When was your last date night???

Here’s a real challenge – finding time and energy for a date night, with your significant other or a friend.  After a long week of juggling work, life and everything involved in that, you can barely make it to Friday without dreaming of just getting home, into comfy “house clothes”, and vegging out for the night.  Anybody else???? It’s not that you don’t want to give the best of yourself, but you’re just worn out from giving everything to everyone else!  And if there are kiddles involved, your time and energy have even more demands.

It takes desire and some serious planning to craft some “me and thee” time together.

Start small.  How about something easier than a full night out?  Maybe coffee or breakfast?  Lunch on the weekend?  An hour after the kids are in bed – turn off the TV, a cup/glass of your favorite beverage, and just catching up?  A walk in the park?  Trade two hours of babysitting with a friend to help a sister out so you can both have a date out?  Then plan that long night together for a real live adult date?

All relationships take work, planning and loving care; you can’t take them for granted.  Show some love to your SO/friend with quality face time (no, not phone FaceTime).  It will be worth it, and you’ll both come away feel renewed having been with that special someone.
