GET READY FOR SOME SERIOUS PUMPKINLICIOUS!!!
Today I’m sharing two “pumpkinlicious” recipes that are perfect after spending time in the cool autumn afternoons or evenings. First I’m honored to be able to share with you a recipe from David Dial’s “Spiced” blog. Among his many accomplishments as a food blogger, recipe developer, writer and foodie, David was the national winner of the 2013 Sara Lee Desserts Recipe Contest, so can you even begin to imagine how yummy his recipe for “Pumpkin Spice Biscotti” is going to turn out? He was also kind enough to allow me to use this pull-off-the-screen-to-eat-now photo. Here’s the link to his recipe: http://spicedblog.com/pumpkin-spice-biscotti.html. Be sure to explore all his creations while you’re visiting his blog! You can find him on Instagram at @spicedblog.
As a perfect complement to his biscotti, I’m sharing my recipe for extremely healthy and delicious Golden Pumpkin-Turmeric Milk. In Ayurvedic medicine turmeric has been used for centuries for relieving swelling and joint pain because it has both anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Pepper is said to help improve the body’s absorption of turmeric. I’ve recommended turmeric to my Mom to help ease her arthritis and this drink is altogether soothing. I’m using it as part of my own bedtime routine!
PUMPKIN TURMERIC MILK
INGREDIENTS
2 cups coconut milk
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/8 teaspoon (just a pinch) freshly ground pepper
Cinnamon sticks (optional)
DIRECTIONS
1. Pour milk into small saucepan.
2. Add other ingredients.
3. Stir on medium heat until warm but not boiling.
4. Pour into two mugs and share with someone special!
(Note – you may substitute the milk with almond milk)
Now, wrap those cold hands around a warm mug of golden pumpkin-turmeric milk, add a bit of heaven with Spiced Blog’s pumpkin spice biscotti, and be in the moment of wonderfulness! Ahhhh…. Does autumn get any better than this?
Thank you so much for sharing this, Linda! These biscotti are delicious…and they are even better with a hot drink. I’m thinking that Pumpkin Turmeric Milk sounds like the perfect partner to go along with some biscotti. Yum!! 🙂 Thanks again!
